There was a lot of art created for the promotion involved with the Boys Don’t Fly Kickstarter. I had a lot of fun with animations, merchandise, and custom drawings. Here are some of my favorites.
launch crew bookmark
When we hit our goal, I created a rocket launch animation to celebrate our backers in the “Launch Crew”. As an added bonus, we shipped this bookmark to everyone with their book. Each backer is represented by their state or country.
Our story is about a young boy who discovers that, while he isn’t the best at everything, he has very specific abilities for which he can be proud. His consistent companion throughout his journey is his friend, Frog. Frog was only mentioned once in the writing, but became a favorite of ours as he found his way onto (almost) every illustration. He became the unofficial mascot for Boys Don’t Fly and was a lot of fun to design and animate.
